I met you more than a week ago, and it took less than ten hours to lose you
words slip out, words get passed around, regrets occur
they say the bark is worse than the bite,
but when the bark is your words,
and the bite is the feeling that comes after,
I'd rather take the bite.
still, a dog is a dog, emotions are emotions, people are people,
you're still you and I'm still me,
and the memory is still there,
whether we choose to think about it or not.
it takes ten hours to lose hope
it takes ten hours to lose the love that never was
pretend this is a movie
pretend this is a scene and you have the part that you always wanted
only you wanted it before now
pretend this is three years ago at the school
pretend that it's raining and i have my head on your shoulder
pretend that you're telling me to stop because you don't want people to think you have a girlfriend
pretend that you're crazy and the days didn't stop
pretend that you're amazing and i held onto everything you said
pretend that nothing hurts and tell me that you're still invincible
pretend that you're still you and everyone's still here
pretend that you didn't say that and i'll pretend i still have feelings
pretend
after everything, what i remember most wasn't the suits, the waves in his hair or the sun in his eyes.
it wasn't the car, where he lived or the way his condo was decorated.
not the first time we met, not the multitude of dates we went on, not the quality of the restaurants and how he told me he loved me in front of everyone.
it wasn't the sound of his voice, not his taste in music or wines, or the way he smelled before he left for work.
i can forget the wedding plans, the way he smiled when he wasn't looking at me and thinking that we'd be together til death did we part.
i remember how he said i looked nice but it sounded like he was lying.

you were born alone
you will die alone
depending on who you are
will you choose the hand of mercy or the hand of justice?
the hand of good or the hand of evil?
can you stand the pain or will it rip you to pieces?
it's a beautiful day,
but I'm still sorry for what happened at the lake

so, my great big plan to start a new account and everything didn't work as well as I thought it would, so I'm going to start posting on this account again. I'll still be active on rongostarr (probably more so on that one than this one). my new plan is to post on both so i have a better chance of getting views/likes/whatever.

i'm switching accounts to rongostarr (https://www.deviantart.com/rongostarr) so you can watch me or add me on it
I'm going to start moving my good works on it and leaving the others here like a lame time capsule
Thank you for the fave of my piece "Terracotta Warriors", it always means a lot to know when someone likes my writing, especially with such a dark piece
